We are delighted to announce that our campaign film, ‘Dear Humans’, took home the People’s Choice Award at the Charity Film Awards yesterday (21st April).
Heartfelt thanks
Your votes helped us beat off tough competition from 125 other charity finalists and win the much-coveted prize – thank you!
A heartfelt thanks must also go to our wonderful High Profile Supporters and Patrons who star in the film, including Joanna Lumley, Deborah Meaden, Evanna Lynch, Peter Egan, Kate Ford and Mike Beckingham. As always, their voices have been crucial in mobilising the masses to support a better life for farm animals.
A win for animals
The concept behind ‘Dear Humans’, in which several famous faces deliver a message from adorable farm animals that it’s time to End the Cage Age, was devised by creative agency Glimpse. It was fantastic to work with them to develop such a fun and innovative film.
“Thank you to all our wonderful supporters who voted to make farm animals the winners of the People’s Choice Award for the film. In fact, so many of you voted that you actually crashed the Awards website!” says our Senior Campaigns Manager, Natasha Smith. “It is your support that allows us to keep up the fight to End the Cage Age for farm animals.
“And of course, we would also like to say a big thank you to the Charity Film Awards for pulling off such a spectacular event, despite the challenging circumstances. It was an honour to be a part of such an inspiring ceremony.”
Take action
Around 16 million farm animals are trapped in cages every year in the UK. If you haven’t already, please urge your animal welfare minister to finally bring about an end to the cage age.
