Compassion is broadening its arguments against factory farming.

Our new campaign, RAW, looks at not only the horrific standard practices in the rearing of farm animals, but also the detrimental effects that factory farming has on our health and on the planet.

Dil Peeling, Director of Public Affairs at Compassion in World Farming says: "The future of food and farming effects us all, and we are working to bring people closer to their food than ever before and expose the true cost of factory farming. Join us at WWW.RAW.INFO."

Factory farming prioritises maximum production above everything else and is highly dependent on large quantities of limited resources such as grain-based feed, water and energy.

It is often viewed as the cheap, efficient solution to feeding our world. But this couldn't be further from the truth - factory farms use more energy than they produce and nearly one billion people are already going hungry in the world.

RAW proves that factory farming is inherently unsustainable; for people, the planet and animals:

  • Factory farming is dangerous, threatening our health and wellbeing
  • Factory farming is unfair, threatening rural livelihoods and exacerbating poverty
  • Factory farming is dirty, threatening the planet and its natural resources
