Going undercover to expose cruelty
Our dedicated investigations unit works to expose the dirty secrets of the intensive farming industry. Often going undercover, our team obtains footage and photographs of animal treatment in various farming systems.
"Going undercover, often in dangerous situations, is the only way that the truth about intensive farming can be exposed."

Forbidden Journeys
Sick and injured downer cows, pushed beyond their calving and milking capacities, are still being transported to slaughterhouses in Europe, despite EU legislation.
We have taken care not to show the worst images from our investigation as they are very distressing. The clip does however, show shocking footage of this illegal and cruel treatment.
Going Undercover
Investigations can be hard-hitting - exposing the cruelty inherent in factory farming. In such cases, the team work undercover to gather evidence of farm animal suffering. These investigations have been recognised as one of the most effective ways of revealing the plight of intensively farmed animals around the world.
Revealing the truth about long distance transport
We also document the welfare problems inherent in the long distance transport of live animals. The transport of live farm animals happens all around the world. Compassion in World Farming investigators film throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
High welfare systems
Examining organic and high welfare farms is a highlight of our work. It makes a refreshing change to record the living conditions of farm animals in these outdoor systems.
Exclusive broadcast footage
Using our exclusive footage; we can produce films for documentaries, news broadcasts and stock libraries. Both the undercover and high welfare footage is at broadcast quality. Our many investigations have resulted in a large archive of film.
The team has created films for use as study aids in schools and colleges; as evidence prompting criminal investigations and to assist in lobbying, directly influencing debate and policy. The aim is always to increase farm animal welfare protection.
